The Good Days
One of the Local QRPers came by last week, and with the usual complaint. "These 'Good Days' that
most everyone talks about", he said, getting right down to Topic A, "how come I never see any of them?
Why not for me?". We had to think this over for a bit but not the QRPer, he was ready to continue.
"Heck! I missed the D6A, the ST0, the YM0 and even the 7J1 . . . all of them. Why is it that I never get to
know the good days? Why does it always happen to me." We were starting to get the curve and moved
right on in. "And a 'Good Day' is when you work a new one? Right?"
The QRPer nodded. "It sure is", he said and we understood. For it is not the weather or the international
situation, the decline in the price of gold or the current situation in the commodities markets, it is not
inflation nor old age that bothers the DXer, it is the really important issues of these times. Things like
new countries and these, along with a few of the older ones, will always help smooth the rocky path of
the years. "Friend", we said for it is the political season and all men are friends. "Friend, prepare
yourself for there are great days to come and every DXer will find fulfillment in new countries and new
ones. They will come for you."
The QRPer was not finished. "How do you know that?" he asked and we had to tell him that it always
has. The Good Days of DX are ahead . . .
The Good Days are coming!! Just don't ask 'When?'.
